SUMMARY:OPDA Okanagan Autocross - Kelowna
DESCRIPTION:Autocross\, also known as autoslalom or solo\, is an inexpensive form of motorsport petition that uses traffic cones in a paved lot to produce a small road course for competitive events. Participants compete to see who can make it through the course the quickest and without dislocating cones or going off course. Two seconds are added to the driver’s time with each cone violation. Leaving the defined course path results in a disqualification of your time for that run. \nAutocross is considered one of the safest forms of motorsport because competitors are racing against the clock rather than against other cars. Vehicles are launched once the previous competitor has completed the course or at sufficient intervals that no interaction will occur. Autocross events test driver skill and car handling rather than all out speed and aggression. \nAutocross events may not achieve the breakneck speeds of road races\, but it’s one of the most challenging and intense forms of motorsport in which you can participate. With low barriers to entry\, almost anyone with a valid driver’s license\, a car and the desire for motorsport competition can join the fun.

DESCRIPTION:This Okanagan Autocross event is being held at Okanagan College\, west parking lot\, 1000 K.L.O. Road in Kelowna\, BC. \n3:30 PM – Setup begins\n4:30 PM – Onsite check-in\n5:00 PM – Course walk\n5:45 PM – Driver’s meeting\n6:00 PM – Competition begins \nAll competitors must check-in at the registration table on arrival and complete the course walk in order to participate in the event. \nParticipants must be familiar with the OPDA Okanagan Autoslalom Supplementary Regulations and the CACC Autoslalom Regulations. \nPlease remember that an approved helmet is required\, and that no open-toed shoes are allowed. Also note that\, competitors are required to submit a completed technical self-declaration form to the technical inspector once annually for each vehicle used in an Okanagan Autocross event. \nThe Okanagan Precision Driving Association reserves the right to retain all or partial payment for cancellations less than 48 hours before the event.
