Current Regulation

This is intended to maintain a maximum stud exposure into the ice of ~14mm. Tech and
organizers maintain the right to ban tires outside of the targeted envelope, regardless of
construction.

Proposed Regulation

This is intended to maintain a maximum stud exposure into the ice of ~19.05mm or .75 inch.  Tech and
organizers maintain the right to ban tires outside of the targeted envelope, regardless of
construction.

Reason for Rule Change

With the fabrication of studded tires is common to have a variety of tires and stud lengths, Members have tested different lengths of studs, and it allows for better traction on sharp corners for closer competition
