Affiliates of the Confederation of Autosport Car Clubs host a variety of motorsport events including autoslalom, ice racing, karting, road racing, time attack and vintage racing. Marque clubs host meets, shows and a variety of other events. Events are posted below as they are submitted from our affiliate clubs.

VMSC Supplemental Regulations 2025
Lapping at VIMC

Applicable to all Lapping events at Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit for 2025

Event Schedule:
08:00 – Gates open for registration and tech.
08:40 – Drivers Meeting
09:00 – Track goes hot for AM sessions
12:00 – Break
13:00 – Track goes hot for PM sessions
16:00 – Track goes cold
Run Groups:
Entrants will be assigned a run group based on driver experience.

EVENT DESCRIPTION: This event is designed for a driver to improve and test their car handling skills at speeds that may be slightly higher than Autoslalom speeds.
Entrants will be divided into 3 groups with each group getting approximately 20 minute sessions rotating through the course of the day.

WAIVERS: An online CACC Annual General Waiver will be used, replacing paper waivers. Waiver is a available via: https://www.caccautosport.org/waiver

ENTRANT ELIGIBILITY: All drivers must hold a current provincial or state driver’s license. (Graduated license, where the
driver is authorized to drive without another licensed driver being present, are permitted.)

RULES: This event will be run under the 2023 CACC Lapping rulebook. Participants are expected to be familiar with this rulebook.

NOTE: See “PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT” section below for helmet requirements.

Additional requirements for open vehicles; rollover protection
Unmodified convertible cars with stock roll protection will be allowed.

The top of the roll bar must not be below the top of the driver’s helmet when the driver is in the normal driving position and must not be more than 15.24 cm (6 inches) behind the driver. It is strongly suggested that the roll bar be at least 7.62 cm (3 inches) above the drivers’ helmet. In the case of two drivers, both drivers must be the roll bar height requirement, however, only one driver must be within six inches of the roll bar. In a closed car with a roll bar/cage, it must be as close as possible to the interior top of the car.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: All competitors must wear helmets meeting one of the following standards:
● BS 6658-85 TYPE A/FR with all amendments (Great Britain)
● Snell Foundation M or SA 2015 or newer standard.
● SFI, Spec 31.1A and 31.2A (USA) (Note: suffix must include “A”)
● FIA standards 8860-2010, 8860-2018, 8858-2002, 8858-2010 or 8859-2015
● Or any helmet listed in current FIA Technical List 25 or FIA Technical List 49

Snell “M” helmets may not be worn in any roll bar or roll cage equipped vehicle.

MINORS: Anyone under the age of 19 years of age entering the closed area shall require parental consent via the Annual Parental Consent waiver. In addition, a minor competing in the event must fill out and sign the Annual Minor Participant Waiver.

SPEED LIMITS: The off-course speed limit is 15 kph. This applies to all pit, grid, and parking areas past the main gate. Please observe posted speed limits on local roads. Violators are subject to immediate disqualification, a potential ban, and shall be escorted from the site.

INTOXICANTS: Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or drugs shall be permitted at the event. Please refer to the Alcohol and Narcotics Policy as outlined in Sections 14.3/14.4 of the 2023 Lapping Rulebook

CHILDREN & PETS: The grid, paddock, and course areas are off-limits to small children. Pets are not permitted on-site at VIMC.

SITE AMENITIES: Air and helmets may not be readily available at the event site. Competitors must be prepared to make other arrangements should these items be unavailable. Fuel is available for sale from VIMC.

RESPECT THE SITE: Please do not litter. Keep your pit area safe. Any and all fluids removed from a vehicle must be taken with you at the end of the event day. Transit across the site parking lots shall be done with restraint -Stunting and similar exhibitions are prohibited and shall be dealt with severely.

PASSENGER POLICY: Passengers must wear an approved helmet and complete all waivers prior to entering the hot pit. Novices are not permitted passengers except for instruction purposes.

EQUIPMENT DAMAGE: Competitors are responsible for any damage to VMSC equipment and property (i.e. timing gear), accidental or otherwise.

Only competition and official vehicles are allowed entry to the closed area. Tow vehicles and trailers require approval from event staff prior to entry.
