21.2.4 Dry Tires
21.2.4.1
By February 1 of each year should option “A” be unavailable from the manufacturer for the season as determined by the manufacturer’s area representative then option “B” will be the Spec tire. Should options “A” and “B” be unavailable from their respective manufacturers then option “C” will become the spec tire.
21.2.4.1.1 Option “A” – American Racer Tire compound #133;
21.2.4.1.2 Option “B” – American Racer Tire compound #133 and Hoosier R60A Club Ford bias ply tire;
21.2.4.1.3 Option “C” – Hoosier VVF Vintage Formula Ford tire (P/N 44165 & 44170).
Should a delay occur in the provision of the tire option determined by February 1, then the next option shall prevail until such time as the tire has been received by the local dealer.
The CACC Race Discipline will issue a bulletin by March 1 of each year announcing the Formula F dry tire as determined above.

Dry tires are open

Current rule affects race group grid numbers.
Some tires have limited availability and are only made in ‘runs’ when there is enough interest.
Opening up to racers running various tires increases grid count.
Performance differences already exist with new/old cars and Ford/Honda powerplants so tires are a minor factor in the performance equation.
