| Short Description | Reduce competition weight of FC open wheel cars to 1210 lbs to match SCCA rules |
| Applicable Regulatory Document | Race |
| Type of Rule Change | Modification |
| Affected Section | 23.3.1 |
| Current Regulation | 23.3.1 The minimum weight shall be 1240lbs for Zetec, 1190lbs for Pinto. |
| Proposed Regulation | I am suggesting a reduction of the minimum weight for the FC cars to match the SCCA rule of 1210 lbs for Ztec |
| Reason for Rule Change | asking to eliminate moving lead weights around in the car as we go back and forth to the USA events. I believe it's not safe to have lead weights being added which could be dislodged in the event of an accident located in the cockpit of the car, most FC Ztec cars require up to 30+ lbs added to comply with the 1240 rule. Due to the introduction of lithium batteries which are significantly lighter, this has required even more weight being located somewhere in the car. In the case of FC pinto cars this would also apply to match the SCCA rules. |
