| Current Regulation | 4.6 In-Car Cameras ------------- 4.7.1.1 Interior and exterior trim including required windows are to be in place. --------------- 4.11.3.1 One (1) eyebolt or tow hook to the front and to the rear is recommended for towing. ------------------ 4.12.2.3 No form of nitrous oxide or any oxygen-bearing additives may be used
|
| Proposed Regulation | 4.6 In-Car Cameras / Radios The In-Car Cameras / Radios section in the current GCRs applies in its entirety. All vehicles participating in any CACC-sanctioned Vintage race event must have a securely mounted
4.11.3.1 The Tow Hooks section of the current GCRs applies in its entirety, with the exception of a unique case such as an old racing car onto which standard tow hook(s) cannot be attached without damage. The specific approval by the event Scrutineer is required in such cases. 4.12.2.3 No form of nitrous oxide or similar performance enhancing additives may be used. |
| Reason for Rule Change | 4.6 In-Car Cameras - This regulation should be consistent with Race requirements, particularly as we are attempting to cut out / significantly penalize on-track incidents in Vintage. Video is a big help to the officials dealing with this. The only caveat is that SOVREN currently still does not require them and they are the only significant external source of BCHMR entrants. 4.7.1.1, Trim - This topic is already covered in in more detail in section 5.6, plus virtually every Vintage racing car has some interior and/or exterior trim removed, so this particular rule is unenforeable / irrelevant in practice. 4.11.3.1 The tow hook requirements for all cars should be identical / similar for the safety and efficiency of emergency workers. 4.12.2.3 No change to the intent of the regulation, just allowing for the ethanol in current pump fuel being an oxygenate. |
