Race Regs: 4.7.12 Blue Flag 4.7.12.2 Waved: A faster competitor is trying to overtake. |
| Proposed Regulation | GCR
10.10.2Waved during practice: A faster car is close behind you and is about to overtake you. 10.10.3 Waved during the race: The flag should normally be shown to a car about to be lapped, if the driver does not seem to be making full use of his rear-view mirrors. When shown, the driver concerned must allow the following car to pass at the earliest opportunity. Same change in Race regs 4.17.12.2
|
| Reason for Rule Change | Align with FIA regs. Rationale: Waved blue flag rule is not worded in a way the is enforceable, FIA wording adds clarity for stewards, drivers, officials. Use of words "must allow" will assist in later investigations and penalties for causing a collision. |
