10.2.1.1 Informs the driver that a track session has been halted. Drivers shall slow down
immediately, no passing and proceed to the pits.

It is the responsibility of all drivers to stop as soon as it is safe to do so in a controlled
manner at or as near the edge of the running surface as possible. Turn off engine. Drivers
will remain in their cars and await instruction from a race official before proceeding.

Return to previous rule whereby race officials can suspend on track activies in a manner that allows the immediate dispatch of emergency and medical crews. Allows response vehicles to take a direct path to the incident.
Our immediate racing neighbour sanctioning bodies (ICSCC and WCMA) use this proceudure for their red flag situations.

Proposed revision for approval at January 2024 board meeting:

Current wording of 10.2.1.1 and 10.2.1.2:
10.2.1.1 Informs the driver that a track session has been halted. Drivers shall slow down immediately, no passing and proceed to the pits.
10.2.1.2 Cars entering the pits must remain in single file and stop in the pit lane away from the working area. If during a qualifying or race session, no work or service shall be performed on any cars until after the track has been reopened, except under the direction of the steward.

Replaced by:
10.2.2 Drivers shall immediately reduce speed, proceed where possible to a position near the next manned flag station and stop near the right edge of the running surface. Drivers shall remain in their cars and await instruction from a race official.
